RESEARCH & INTELLIGENCE LEADERSHIP
Director of Hospital Solar Intelligence and AI
Research Scientist | AI Workflow Engineer
Andrie leads SolarMD’s hospital solar research, evidence standards, data intelligence, and AI workflow development. He turns hospital, supplier, equipment, and financing information into clear diagnostic assessments and board-ready decision reports.
His work connects hospital operating needs with the evidence behind each recommendation, from initial readiness to post-installation performance studies.

We help hospital owners, administrators, finance teams, and facilities managers understand readiness, compare options, and bring a clear business case to their board. The Hospital Solar Diagnostic Method structures that work: Diagnose, Qualify, Prescribe, Present, and Prove.
Andrie’s focus is making SolarMD’s recommendations research-based, data-driven, auditable, and scalable. His mandate connects research, data quality, and hospital decision-making across the full evidence and decision workflow.
Develop source-backed records with citations, confidence levels, and an audit trail. Keep documented installations, ongoing projects, tenders, and unconfirmed claims distinct.
Assess electricity bills, operating patterns, outages, generator use, critical loads, budgets, decision authority, and project readiness.
Prepare comparable options covering costs, projected savings, warranties, financing, resilience, supplier qualifications, and risk, with clearly stated assumptions.
Lead a research programme spanning case studies, reports, surveys, and performance studies. Compare forecasts with actual generation, savings, downtime, generator use, and environmental impact within the agreed scope and available records.
Research and publishing work includes appropriate permissions and ethics review where required. Completed publications and studies are identified individually in our research library.

The responsibilities below describe the project team. Licensed professionals and installers are appointed for the agreed project scope; listing a role does not imply an employment or partnership relationship.
| Team member | Primary responsibility |
|---|---|
| Andrie Udal | Hospital research, evidence standards, data analytics, AI workflow development, qualification, supplier comparisons, decision reports, and performance studies. |
| Electrical engineers | Electrical design, system sizing, protection, safety, commissioning, and required technical approvals. |
| Civil / structural engineers | Roof condition, structural capacity, foundations, and construction requirements. |
| Solar installers | Procurement, installation, permits, warranties, maintenance, and project delivery within the agreed contract. |
| Hospital representatives | Requirements, records, procurement, approvals, and final investment decisions. |
AI WORKFLOW DEVELOPMENT
Andrie’s workflow development focuses on lead qualification, document collection, supplier matching, quotation comparison, proposal tracking, and follow-up. These workflows are developed and adopted for the agreed engagement; the website does not perform automated engineering assessments.
Where AI assists analysis, inputs, sources, assumptions, and review requirements must remain visible. Hospital records and professional judgment determine the recommendations. Final technical decisions require the relevant licensed professional.
OUR BACKGROUND
SolarMD’s company history describes Australian beginnings and an approach brought to the Philippines by Andrie Udal. The Solar Choice comparison model provides background for our focus on education, supplier screening, and clear commercial comparisons.
Our hospital diagnostic adapts those principles to Philippine institutions: continuous operations, local supplier support, utility arrangements, procurement, and the hospital’s own approval process. Solar Choice’s Australian customer counts, network size, and commercial terms are not SolarMD’s Philippine track record.

Before an engagement proceeds, SolarMD will set out the scope, deliverables, applicable fees, who pays them, and any installer referral or supplier-funded arrangement relevant to that engagement. Ask for this disclosure alongside the proposal comparison.
Supplier relationships must be considered with the recommendation. A directory listing is research evidence, not a supplier endorsement or proof of a SolarMD client relationship.
